A successful course, run by the Office Technology Department at Yale College in Wrexham, might soon be offered to students attending United Arab Emirates Gulf Medical College.
Key personnel at the Medical College, one of the fastest growing and prestigious in the region, are interested in delivering the innovative Diploma for Executive Medical Secretaries, developed by staff at Yale. Preliminary talks have been held and a delegation, led by Stelios Yalarakis, International Recruitment Officer at Yale, will visit Dubai in July to discuss more detailed collaboration.
He said, "Medical secretaries play a key role in the delivery of health care, regardless of the cultural, economic or social context. Our Diploma gives students access to a wide range of rewarding careers and we are delighted that staff in a country so far away are interested in offering the course themselves.
"In recent years we have developed links with institutions in such countries as China, Vietnam and India. Such initiatives bring many benefits and reflect the hard work and professionalism of staff at Yale College in Wrexham".
